By NASFAA Training and Regulatory Assistance Staff
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has provided NASFAA with the Federal Student Aid Service Centers, Training and Technical Assistance Contacts sheet. The contact sheet is intended to help ensure financial aid administrators contact the area within ED that can most appropriately address the school's issues or questions.
The contact sheet provides information for ED's School Participation Division Institutional Improvement Specialists, Regional Training Officers, and Call Centers.
School Participation Divisions (SPDs) focus primarily on institutional and program eligibility. A school should contact its SPD with questions related to its Title IV institutional eligibility, academic program eligibility, term or nonterm program formats, independent audits, financial statements, and other technical assistance. SPDs conduct on-site and off-site technical assistance visits, provide one-on-one training, and assist with general Title IV questions.
Regional Training Officers provide local, regional, and national training on a wide variety of Title IV topics. Training Officers provide direct assistance to schools by answering follow-up questions from training sessions, as well as other regulatory assistance.
FSA REACH allows schools to connect with the various Service Centers for Schools through a single phone number. Schools with operational and technical questions related to the various Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems, such as Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) and FAA Access, should start by contacting FSA REACH.
