The Policies & Procedures (P&P) Builder, a module of NASFAA’s Compliance Engine, guides you step-by-step through the creation of a centralized, accessible policies and procedures manual. Due to the timing of the release of the P&P Builder template each year, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) may provide new guidance which affects existing policies and procedures. In response, updates will be made to the P&P Builder template.
On Nov. 5, 2019, ED's Office of Postsecondary Education issued an electronic announcement, which revised the previous policy for defining standard term programs. This change in guidance may affect not only how programs are defined at some institutions (i.e., making more programs standard), but may also require the policies and procedures to be updated as a result. Section 3.1.1 of NASFAA's P&P Builder has been updated with this new subregulatory guidance. The homepage of the P&P Builder will also be updated regularly with guidance that schools should note, but will not affect the P&P Builder template.
