FAFSA 2024 Application Guide: How to Access Federal Financial Aid

"The Department of Education distributes billions of dollars in financial aid to college and graduate students each year through loans, grants and work-study programs. To access this financial aid, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, commonly known as the FAFSA," CNN reports.

... "The Department of Education planned to send your FAFSA information to schools by late January. Due to these delays, students were slated to receive their financial aid offers later than usual."

"'Once a financial aid office receives that information, it will still take several weeks to process, package and communicate financial aid offers to students,' says Jill Desjean, a senior policy analyst at the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. 'The sooner schools receive that information, the sooner they can begin their work of getting financial aid offers to students.'"
