2020 was an eventful year for the financial aid community to say the least. The ongoing pandemic created widespread disruptions across higher education, and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress in March funneled emergency funding to both students and institutions. There's still time to share your great ideas! The deadline to submit session proposals for NASFAA 2021 — currently scheduled to take place just outside of Washington, D.C. at National Harbor, Maryland next June — has been extended. All types of session proposals are welcome, from those focused on advocacy, training, and professional development, to sessions structured as open-forum discussions. As you construct your proposal, we urge you to construct your session with an eye toward inclusion, ensuring speakers from all different backgrounds — particularly those from marginalized groups — are represented. The Department of Education (ED) is requesting information on successful approaches for expanding work-based learning (WBL) opportunities for youth by working across federal, state, and local education and employer systems. ED will use this information to inform our implementation of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006, as amended by the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V).
