In preparation for implementation of the Student Aid Index (SAI) in the 2024-25 award year, NASFAA has developed a number of SAI case studies — using its SAI Modeling Tool — to help financial aid administrators understand the circumstances that may lead to SAIs differing from expected family contributions (EFCs). In a series of hypothetical applicant scenarios, the case studies provide demographic information and a side-by-side comparison of the EFC versus the SAI, with explanations for differences between the two.

If you’re having a hard time keeping track of all the upcoming deadlines, expirations, and restart dates around student loans, then you’re in luck! NASFAA has created a resource with key dates for students, borrowers, and financial aid professionals to remember, such as when to apply for loan cancellation, or when to submit temporary waivers for Public Service Loan Forgiveness that are set to expire soon.
