NASFAA has created a tool to help institutions estimate potential future funding gaps for currently enrolled students resulting from the changes to student and parent loan limits from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The goal of this tool is to help members use data from their internal systems to estimate Unsubsidized and Graduate PLUS loan funding gaps for Graduate and Professional students, as well as Parent PLUS funding gaps for undergraduate students.
The tool is in Excel format and is designed to be downloaded from NASFAA’s site to ensure that your institutional data is only accessed by the individuals you permit.
All materials have been updated to reflect final rules published on May 1, 2026.
Questions regarding the model may be directed to NASFAA's Policy Department at [email protected]. Please note, NASFAA is unable to assist individual institutions in obtaining data from their internal systems or in interpreting their results. Blue Icon Advisors may be of assistance to institutions in using this tool to model their loan funding gaps.
