Lissa Powell
Training Content and Presentation Specialist, NASFAA
Lissa Powell joined the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) in 2017 as the presentation and content development specialist. Lissa received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She has worked for more than 25 years in the financial aid industry, previously serving as the director of financial aid at Samford University and the associate director of financial aid at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She served as regional training executive with USA Funds University for 8 years, and has been active on the boards of both AASFAA (Alabama) and SASFAA. Lissa lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her nieces and nephews and experimenting in the kitchen.
