More ED Employees on the Move

"The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators kicked off its conference this week as administrators try to implement a host of regulatory changes coming Wednesday," POLITICO reports.

... "A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s definition of professional, which narrowed who was eligible for higher loan limits. Despite blocking the definition, the judge decided to keep the annual caps that limit student borrowing at $50,000 for professional degrees and $20,500 for graduate degrees."

"'A lot of those students may be reaching out to their schools to say, ‘Will I be able to borrow $50,000 now?’ and schools don’t really have a clear answer to share with them because we just don’t know how ED will respond to this decision,' said Karen McCarthy, NASFAA’s vice president of public policy and federal relations. 'There is a lot up in the air, and institutions won’t be able to give clear guidance to those borrowers.'"
