The Department of Education (ED) has appointed Jordan Matsudaira as its first-ever chief economist to guide real time policymaking, and serve as a liaison between experts in the Office of the Chief Data Officer, the Institute for Education Sciences, Budget Service, and Federal Student Aid (FSA) and the research community.

Our school remembers automatically receiving the institutional share waiver for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 award years due to the national emergency. We're also congratulating the following individuals for job changes: Steven Foster, formerly the director of financial aid at Kettering University, who is now the director of scholarships and financial aid at University of Michigan-Dearborn; Alethia Shipman, formerly the associate director of financial aid at Fayetteville State University, who is now the associate director of financial aid at George Mason University; Deborah Rezene, who was promoted from assistant director to director of financial aid at Multnomah University; Robin Reid, who was promoted from director of financial aid to associate vice president of compliance-internal audit & institutional effectiveness at DigiPen Institute of Technology; Molly Walsh, who was promoted from associate director to director of financial aid at DigiPen Institute of Technology; Kristin Bhaumik, who was promoted from associate director for financial wellness, advising, and eligibility to senior associate director at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor; and Heather Hall Lewis, FAAC^®, associate director of financial aid at University of Portland, will be the program specialist on the policy implementation team at Federal Student Aid.
