NEWS FROM NASFAA

Like much of the American workforce, higher education employees said they felt burnt out and exhausted during the COVID-19 pandemic — a phenomenon that led to resignations across campuses and teams being short-staffed. A new brief from the American Council on Education (ACE) released Monday explores concerns employees have with their jobs and possible solutions campus leaders can take.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA's award-winning Diversity Leadership Program (DLP) aims to advance the careers of individuals from marginalized and underrepresented groups in the association and create a strong and diverse pipeline for association leadership. Now in its fifth year, the DLP is seeking six new participants to receive a robust portfolio of benefits, mentorship, and guidance to aid in their development as financial aid association leaders at the state, regional, and national level. Please refer to the DLP webpage for more information about program benefits, the applicant selection process, and eligibility criteria. Applications are due October 31, 2022.

We need your great ideas for engaging, relevant, and interesting conference sessions. All types of session proposals are welcome, from those focused on advocacy, training, and professional development, to sessions structured as open-forum discussions. We urge you to construct your session proposal with an eye toward inclusion, ensuring speakers from different backgrounds — particularly those from marginalized groups — are represented. All proposals must be received by October 31, 2022. Visit our Presenters and Moderators page to submit a proposal.
