A new lawsuit is seeking to upend the Department of Education’s (ED) continuation of the pause on federal student loan payments and interest accrual, arguing that all of the department’s approved extensions lack authority.
Seventeen senators on Sunday sent a letter to Senate appropriation leaders urging them to increase funding for the Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), noting that increased funding is necessary for the office to “implement critical programs.”
Last year, the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) conducted a survey of higher education employees that showed a landscape where more than half of employees were looking for other employment opportunities, a trend that appeared to be getting worse. CUPA-HR is again conducting this survey to evaluate whether there are any changes from last year, as well as to assess how institutions have mitigated the retention crisis. The survey is open until April 21. It is intended for all higher education employees (full-time, part-time, exempt, non-exempt) who are not faculty. All responses are entirely confidential and will be reported in aggregate only. None of the information provided will be associated with the respondent’s specific institution. Identifying information will not be associated with the responses.
