With all the upcoming changes to the 2024-25 FAFSA, NASFAA led a session at its Virtual Conference on Wednesday on key updates coming with FAFSA simplification, including changes to the 2024-25 FAFSA form, the new Student Aid Index (SAI), and more.
On Wednesday, NASFAA submitted comments in response to the Department of Education's (ED) 30-day comment period on new student-level annual federal work-study (FWS) earnings data reporting. NASFAA thanked ED for providing a more realistic burden estimate and for clarifying which items ED plans to implement in the future, and asked the department to provide institutions as much time as possible to comply with the initial reporting year given the sizable start-up burden. NASFAA also expressed continued concern about the breadth of student-level campus-based aid data ED plans to collect in future years.
NASFAA's 2023-24 Self-Study Guides are now available as PDFs, or in a new interactive e-Reader format, through the RedShelf platform. Written for the independent learner, each Self-Study Guide includes multiple lessons with a variety of exercises to reinforce each lesson. Upon completion of your Self-Study Guide, you can qualify to take the related credential test and potentially earn a NASFAA Professional Credential.
