NEWS FROM NASFAA

2023 was another big year of changes for the financial aid community, with the implementation of FAFSA simplification fully underway. As aid offices wait in limbo for the launch of the 2024-25 FAFSA by December 31, many financial aid professionals have unanswered questions and concerns. There were also other changes in the financial aid world, including negotiated rulemaking for student debt relief, and final rules on a new income-driven repayment plan, gainful employment, and more. Here are the top 10 articles NASFAA readers consumed in 2023:

NASFAA is pleased to announce the members of the 2023-24 Diversity Leadership Program (DLP) class: Donise Banks of Southern University A&M College Law Center (SWASFAA); Amy Davies of the University of Oregon (WASFAA); Juan Chico Dimas of the University of Denver (RMASFAA); Marlon Jones of the University of St. Francis (MASFAA); Jonathan Mador of High Point University (SAFSAA); and Christopher Rodriguez of Rowan College South Jersey (EASFAA). The DLP, unveiled in 2018, provides selectees from a wide range of diverse backgrounds with a robust portfolio of benefits, mentorship, and guidance on how to develop as a financial aid association leader at the state, regional, and national level. Stay tuned to Today's News in the coming weeks to learn more about the 2023-24 class.
