NASFAA Welcomes New Staff Members

We’re excited to welcome Courtenay Richardson to NASFAA as our new HR Coordinator on the Operations team. Courtenay brings more than six years of experience supporting HR operations, compliance, and employee relations across large, multi-site organizations. In her previous roles, she coordinated recruiting and onboarding processes, managed HR documentation and reporting, and led training sessions to support staff and ensure compliance. She also has experience with full-cycle HR operations, including benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee relations. Courtenay is passionate about creating positive employee experiences and supporting efficient, people-centered operations. We’re thrilled to have her on the team!

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

While there is no effective date for the Schedule of Reductions (SOR) annual loan limit adjustment for less-than-full-time (part-time) students in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), the U.S. Department of Education (ED) is choosing to implement this provision beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. We're about two months out from the NASFAA 2026 National Conference in National Harbor, Maryland! If you've been on the fence about attending, the full schedule of sessions is now available to view. We have also put together a toolkit of resources to help you justify your attendance to your manager. There's still time to join your colleagues this summer at the premier training and networking event for financial aid professionals. Register by May 1 to save up to $100 with the early bird discount.

Regional and state associations can now order 2026-27 training materials for use at association conferences, training institutes, and other training events. NASFAA Authorized Events provide a suite of materials (study guides, instructor guides, slide decks and slide handouts, and overview slides) for each available topic. Authorized Events, utilizing instructors who have earned a NASFAA Credential in the respective topic, create the opportunity for participants to have access to credential tests at no additional cost beyond the event they are attending.
