NEWS FROM NASFAA

The negotiated rulemaking committee tasked with rewriting federal regulations on accreditation, distance education, faith-based entities, and the TEACH Grant program is heading into its final session today. Please join us in congratulating Carrie Short, who will start a new position as the director of financial services at Lorain County Community College, Theodore Malone, who was awarded the Lifetime Membership Award by WASFAA at the 50th WASFAA Conference in June, and Ashley Richardson, who was promoted from financial aid advisor to assistant director of financial aid at St. Louis College of Health Careers. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Federal Student Aid hasp osted EDExpress for Windows 2019-2020, Release 2.0, on the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) website, located at https://fsadownload.ed.gov. Release 2.0 adds full Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant), William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan), and Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant functionality for the 2019–20 award cycle.

Federal Student Aid has posted an EDExpress for Windows 2018-2019, Release 3.0, program file that resolves a Pell Grant Year-to-Date (YTD) import issue in the Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant) module. The program file is now available for download from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) website, located at https://fsadownload.ed.gov.

This request is for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to conduct the 2016/20 Baccalaureate and Beyond (B&B:16/20) full-scale study panel maintenance activities. The B&B studies of the education, work, financial, and personal experiences of individuals who have completed a bachelor's degree at a given point in time are a series of longitudinal studies.

The Annual Performance Report for Partnership and State Projects for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a required report that grant recipients must submit annually. The purpose of this information collection is for accountability. The data is used to report on progress in meeting the performance objectives of GEAR UP, program implementation, and student outcomes.
