NEWS FROM NASFAA

In January, NASFAA hosted its first Advocacy Pipeline of 2023. Three NASFAA members — Wendy Ortega-Garrett from California State University Office of the Chancellor, Jennifer Achan from Bakersfield College, and Cecelia Jones from Jarvis Christian University — participated in virtual meetings with congressional staffers on Capitol Hill.

FAFSA changes for 2024-25 include eliminating the question that asks students whether they will live on campus, off campus, or with parents. Some NASFAA member schools have indicated they use the response to this question to construct cost of attendance (COA) and for other financial aid purposes. NASFAA wants to know if and how schools are planning to collect students' housing choices for creating COAs or for other purposes once the housing plans question is no longer on the FAFSA. Take our quick poll by next Thursday, March 9, at 5:00 p.m. ET to let us know. If you'd like to take more polls, head to our Poll the Pros page.
