NEWS FROM NASFAA

In this monthly round-up in Today's News, we would like to highlight what is going on in your state and regional financial aid administrator associations. This month, we have the opportunity to hear from our colleagues from California, Iowa, Tennessee, New York, Minnesota, and the Delaware-District of Columbia-Maryland Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA's Rapid Response Network (RRN) provides timely feedback on student aid issues to NASFAA staff, which is then used in NASFAA's policy and advocacy work with Congress and the Department of Education. Communication is done through a listserv, and RRN members are asked to provide feedback relevant to their own institution or experiences. If interested, please apply to volunteer no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, August 18, 2023. This volunteer opportunity is only open to individuals who are employed at NASFAA member institutions.

Please join us in congratulating; Vanessa Mayse, who was promoted from senior associate director of student financial aid to director of student financial aid and veteran services at Florida SouthWestern State College; Lottia Windham, formerly the senior student financial operations specialist/financial literacy at Southern Methodist University, who is now the regional director of financial aid campus operations/outreach for Austin Community College; Patrick Barnes, who was promoted from financial aid coordinator to financial aid counselor at the University of Portland; and Riley Cooper, FAAC®, who was promoted from senior assistant director, eligibility, to associate director, need analysis, at the University of Southern California. Celebrate your own career developments by completing the "Movers and Shakers" form to share the news with your colleagues.
