NEWS FROM NASFAA

The College Cost Transparency Initiative (CCT), an initiative aimed at improving transparency of student financial aid offers, announced on Tuesday that over 360 institutions across the country have voluntarily committed to follow its set of principles and standards for the financial aid offers they communicate to undergraduate students. Together, these institutions serve more than 3 million college students across the United States.

NASFAA has drafted comments on the Department of Education’s (ED) proposed revision to its Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) Request form, which federal student loan borrowers will use to apply for all IDR plans, including the new Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) repayment plan. The form is currently available under emergency clearance granted during the summer, but is still subject to regular notice and comment rules. NASFAA is sharing these comments in advance of submitting them to ED in hopes that members can use our comments to inform their own.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

If you are your institution or organization's primary or secondary NASFAA contact, please take a moment to read through our Frequently Asked Questions page to help keep your roster up to date. It is important to keep your staff roster updated so former staff do not appear in the online Membership Directory and new staff receive all member benefits. If you are a new primary contact at your institution/organization, please contact Membership Services by email if you have any questions.

"I would highly recommend Blue Icon to any institution who doesn't have the time to develop on their own policies and procedures," said Mai Vo, acting director of financial aid at Napa Valley College. Contact Blue Icon today to get started on your next project. "Now everything is documented in one place for us to keep updated and accurate. It's easier moving forward because everything is built and only updates are required."
