NEWS FROM NASFAA

NASFAA is pleased to share a draft of its response to the Department of Education's (ED) request for comments on its proposed regulations to implement the Pell Grant changes from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which were negotiated by the AHEAD rulemaking committee. NASFAA's comments address the Workforce Pell Grant expansion and the new provision affecting Pell eligibility for students whose non-federal grants and scholarships equal or exceed their cost of attendance. NASFAA hopes our members will use these comments to inform their own comments, which are due to ED on April 8, 2026.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Reminder: Participate in NASFAA’s Staffing Model Survey

If you are your institution’s primary contact, NASFAA sent you an email on Monday March 30, to participate in a very short survey about your office’s staffing and structure. Your feedback will directly contribute to updating NASFAA’s Staffing Predictor Model, which gauges how your financial aid office’s staffing compares to others nationwide. The survey should only take 5-8 minutes of your time. Responses are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, April 10, 2026. Your participation will provide us with a fuller dataset, strengthening everyone’s results when using the Predictor Model. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact NASFAA’s Research Department.

Get the recognition you deserve by earning the FAAC® designation. If your application has already been approved, purchase the Certified Financial Aid Administrator® Knowledge Exam.
