Over 60 members of Congress on Sunday sent a letter to the Department of Education (ED) expressing concerns about rising student loan default and delinquency rates, and asked the department for details on its plan to help struggling borrowers.
NASFAA is pleased to share its response to the Department of Education's (ED) request for comments on its proposed changes to the Master Promissory Forms as well as the Joint Consolidation Loan Separation Application. The department is proposing these changes to align the forms with changes made in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). These comments address new language the department proposed adding regarding program quality, as well as areas where this new, important information on the changes to the loan repayment programs could be improved.
