The Department of Education (ED) on Wednesday explained new updates to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) with the implementation of the Student Tuition and Transparency System and Earnings Accountability (STATS) framework, outlining several reporting requirements that are now optional for the October 1, 2026 reporting if an institution chooses to early implement STATS.

The Department of Education (ED) on Wednesday announced that the State Workforce Pell Program Certification Form is now available for governors to complete in order to communicate to ED the programs they have approved and certified as eligible workforce programs for purposes of the expanded eligibility for Pell Grants under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). ED provided information on the application process in the electronic announcement stating governors would provide completed forms to the institution and the institution would upload the form into its Application to Participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (E-App).
