The Department of Education (ED) has opened virtual registration for its higher education fraud summit happening today, Tuesday, July 7. The summit begins at 8 a.m. and will feature staff from ED and Federal Student Aid (FSA), Inspectors General, institutions of higher education, and industry partners for a full-day dialogue on combating fraud across higher education. The summit was initially announced as an in-person event, but ED has now opened the summit for virtual attendance.

In “The Caring University,” Kevin R. McClure proposes organizational changes designed to slow the post-pandemic exodus of higher education faculty and administrators. Drawing on interviews with practitioners and his own experience, McClure, an associate professor of higher education and author of the Working Better column for The Chronicle of Higher Education, describes how institutions are falling short in supporting their employees. In the following book review, Nicole (Nikki) Andrews, executive director of enrollment management and recruitment, University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, shares her opinions of its contents. What follows are her takeaways, thoughts, and reflections.
