NASFAA has developed a Professional Degree Program Definition Timeline providing a chronological overview of the development of the professional degree definition for purposes of the new loan limits under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). The timeline begins with the definition’s establishment through negotiated rulemaking and covers the legal action and Department of Education guidance that followed. We will continue to update the timeline as additional developments occur. We also updated the Federal Methodology and Pell Formula Changes Flowchart to note changes made to Pell eligibility under the OBBBA.
