NEWS FROM NASFAA

NASFAA has updated its Compiled Higher Education Act (HEA) Recommendations and HEA Priorities. The last comprehensive reauthorization of the HEA occurred in 2008, and the law has been overdue for another reauthorization for nearly two decades. NASFAA has provided updated policy recommendations that address the evolving higher education landscape and reflect the significant changes made through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. While several of NASFAA’s HEA recommendations have been accomplished over the years, NASFAA will continue to advocate for financial aid administrators on Capitol Hill and around any legislative vehicle that might be used to advance higher education reforms in the future.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Each year, NASFAA members have the opportunity to elect colleagues to serve on the Association’s Board of Directors, helping guide our direction and advance our mission. Do you know someone who would make a great leader? Or are you ready to step into a leadership role yourself? Help us recognize the dedicated, engaged leaders who can make a difference by submitting a nomination by 5:00 p.m. ET today, October 29, 2026.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the way higher education operates, and financial aid offices are no exception. This webinar from Blue Icon Advisors, now available on demand, explores practical, real-world applications of AI that can help financial aid professionals streamline routine tasks, improve communication with students and families, and increase operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
