ED Releases Draft Pell Grant Look-Up Tables for 2024-25

The Department of Education (ED) on Friday released its Pell Grant look-up tables for award year 2024-25, which help determine if a student may be eligible for a maximum or minimum grant.
As a reminder, a student’s eligibility for a Pell Grant is based on the student’s dependency status, family size, student and/or parent adjusted gross income (AGI), and state of legal residence. The tables provided in Friday’s announcement also break down how to calculate a dependent and independent student’s eligibility limits.
In the announcement, ED also noted that it has replaced the 2024-25 Draft Student Aid Index (SAI) and the Pell Grant Eligibility guide with an updated version. According to the notice, the only “substantial” change concerns a section on applicants exempt from asset reporting.
Additional supplements also added to the guide include EFC to SAI Crosswalk, EFC to SAI Scenarios, Eligibility for Max or Min Pell Grant Resource, and Pell Formulas and Enrollment Intensity.
Final versions of the guide will be published prior to the 2024-25 processing cycle for the new FAFSA, which is expected to be launched in December of this year.

So far draft 24-25 Pell tables are for 50 states and District of Columbia; they do not include US territories, like Puerto Rico for instance. Puerto Rico IHE's would expect to be released before December's launching.
