NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Office of Postsecondary Education will host several webinars that will provide an overview of the changes to regulatory requirements in the Distance Education and Innovation regulations, which were published on Sept. 2, 2020 and will be effective July 1, 2021 (unless early implemented by institutions). The webinars — focusing on Satisfactory Academic Progress and Return of Title IV Funds, Distance Education and Institutional Eligibility, and Subscription-Based Programs, respectively — will take place on April 12, April 26, and May 10 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET. Please join us in congratulating Linda Handy, associate vice president for financial aid at the University of Indianapolis, who will retire at the end of June after 43 years of working in financial aid; Darolyn Porter, compliance director at the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, who recently announced her retirement after serving the state of Tennessee for over 42 years; Linda Mottishaw, director of education at Pocatello Beauty Academy, Inc. Elevate Salon Institute, who retired after 31 years of working in financial aid; and Catherine Sanchez, formerly the assistant director of financial aid at University of North Texas Health Science Center, who is now the director of financial aid at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Celebrate your career developments by completing the "Movers and Shakers" form to share the news with your colleagues.
