A school has two payment plans. One payment plan has no interest and does not extend beyond a year. Do the regulations consider the second plan a private loan and if so does it have to be included as estimated financial assistance (EFA)? Think you know the answer? The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that the implementation of its new enrollment management system, named Enrollment Manager, will be delayed from mid-January 2023 to early March 2023. Last week, NASFAA, along with other higher education organizations, signed on to a letter urging VA to delay the transition to the new system because the rollout didn’t give enough time for campuses to prepare, among other issues.
NASFAA is looking for a student to fill a 12-week paid internship with its Policy and Federal Relations staff. The intern will help develop advocacy materials; attend and report on hearings, events, and meetings; analyze and summarize legislation and regulations; and much more. Those students studying in fields related to higher education, public policy, political science, and history may benefit most from this internship. If you know graduate or undergraduate students who may be interested, please encourage them to apply. This internship is supported by the Dallas Martin Endowment for Public Policy and Student Aid. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, to be considered.
