A group of Senate Republicans on Monday introduced legislation that would overturn President Joe Biden’s student debt cancellation plan and end the pause on federal student loan payments. 

As institutions work to help students complete their degree or credential, one organization is challenging institutions to look at other measures of students’ success beyond completion. 

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA is pleased to announce that Jessica Flogaites, FAAC®, associate director of financial aid strategic initiatives and partnerships at University of Pittsburgh, has been selected by the commissioners as the next chair-elect. Jessica will continue to represent the eastern region for the next three years as one of the elected officers of the commission. With several service terms ending in June, NASFAA also is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Jacquez-Amador, FAAC®, Melet Leafgreen, FAAC®, Lacey Ledwich, FAAC®, and Vandeen McKenzie, FAAC® will join the commission as of July 1, 2023 to help represent the financial aid community.
