NEWS FROM NASFAA

Over 2,400 financial aid professionals have convened just outside of the nation’s capital in National Harbor, Maryland, to connect and proudly celebrate NASFAA’s 60th anniversary after a year of significant challenges that tested offices across all regions.

A group of congressional Democrats last week unveiled bicameral legislation to make college more affordable by nearly doubling the maximum Pell Grant award, indexing it to inflation, shifting the program to mandatory funding, and more.

Federal Student Aid (FSA) on Monday announced that it is postponing its Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability webinar, which was originally scheduled for July 8, to an unspecified date. FSA wrote that it will provide an update “as soon as further details are available.” The Department of Education announced the final rule on this accountability framework will be published in the Federal Register on July 1.
