NEWS FROM NASFAA

NASFAA’s 2026 Virtual Summit kicked off on Monday, offering attendees the opportunity to tune into unique sessions focusing on professional development, the latest financial aid policy guidance, and much more.

The Department of Education (ED) recently released its final rule covering the new Student Tuition and Transparency System and Earnings Accountability (STATS) framework, created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). NASFAA updated several of its OBBBA resources to align with the information and guidance reflected in the final rule and created a new resource related to the cohort expansion process. We also updated several resources in response to the recent court order, which led to temporary changes to the programs eligible for professional degree loan limits. If further updates to our resources are needed, we will revise them accordingly and communicate those updates in Today’s News.

The high school class of 2026 set a new record in FAFSA completions, with 59.1% of graduating seniors completing the FAFSA by June 30, according to new data from the National College Attainment Network (NCAN).
