The House on Tuesday cleared the Senate’s continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government through December 11 by a vote of 370-48. Enactment of this bill would extend the spending deadline for fiscal year (FY) 2027 and prevent a government shutdown at the beginning of October.

NASFAA has updated its Student Aid Funding issue brief, which highlights the importance of adequately funding key programs, including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work-Study and the Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant. While funding has generally remained stagnant for decades when adjusting for inflation, student aid programs are essential to maintaining a robust and diverse higher education landscape.
