Schools that were already participating in the Second Chance Pell (SCP) Experimental Sites Initiative had the opportunity to apply to participate in the Revised SCP Experiment in May 2023. This Revised Experiment allows participating schools to enroll students who are incarcerated before they have an approved Prison Education Program (PEP) under certain specific guidelines. The participating schools must reach specific milestones that demonstrate progress toward developing approved PEP(s).
