As Congress continues its work on the budget reconciliation process, it is critical that your representatives in Congress hear from you about how the potential reforms will impact your students. At this time, we urge you to reach out to your members in both the House and Senate to express your concerns with the House proposal. Although the Senate education committee has not yet made its own reconciliation language public, your senators must hear about the negative impacts that these provisions would have on students and institutions. We encourage you to ask your representative in the House to vote against the current proposal, and to ask your senator to ensure the concerning House provisions are not included in any Senate reconciliation bill.

We understand that some NASFAA members are not able to participate in our advocacy efforts for a number of reasons, including institutional policies around employee involvement in direct advocacy. We encourage you to connect with the office at your institution that handles government relations to determine if you are able to help with this effort.
NASFAA will regularly update this page as Congress continues its work on the reconciliation process.
