The Department of Education (ED) released an electronic announcement last week announcing FSA Partner Connect will become the primary enrollment and user management service for FSA,, meaning users will use FSA Partner Connect to enroll for access to FSA systems and to exchange information via the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). ED noted the current SAIG enrollment website will retire on June 12, 2025, and SAIG enrollment functionality will move to FSA Partner Connect in July.
Users do not need to take any action to maintain their current access or enrollment; however, during the transition period, new or updated enrollments will not be processed. Because of this outage, it is important for schools to plan ahead and submit any new or updated enrollments prior to June 12. Any signature pages or enrollment forms submitted during the transition period will be rejected, and schools will need to resubmit the information via FSA Partner Connect once the system is implemented.
ED also announced that once SAIG enrollment functionality is moved to FSA Partner Connect, schools will no longer need to mail paper signature pages, as there will be an electronic signature process. Additionally, foreign schools will be able to complete enrollment forms via the online process as well. Customer service related to SAIG enrollment will also be transitioned from the FPS Help Desk to the FSA Partner and School Relations Center after June 12. ED said additional electronic announcements and information about training opportunities would be published “in the coming weeks."

I guess this means if we have a new staff member start after June 12, they will have to wait until at least July to gain access to these systems?? Or if a staff member leaves, we won't be able to deactivate their access until at least July? That second part seems like a security concern. Apologies for the pessimism, but based on recent track records, banking on this being ready to go in July doesn't sound very promising to me.
